The Bangels - Eternal Flame

Ci aspettano tempi oscuri, nel frattempo parlo d'altro.

Per anni ho evitato senza molta saggezza gruppi e cantanti che ritenevo banali semplicemente perché nati negli anni ottanta, che come tutti sanno non è un decennio che brilla in contenuti musicali.

Da qualche tempo a questa parte ho preso in mano diverse discografie ed ho scoperto che tanti gruppi di allora, specialmente agli inizi, erano musicalmente a livelli molto alti.

I primi Duran Duran, ad esempio. Madonna, che con Like a virgin e True blue ha praticamente reinventato un genere. O, e si torna all'oggetto del post, le Bangles. Tre dischi tra l'84 e l'88 più uno nella reunion del 2003. Tutti molto belli.

Lo ammetto, sono in fissa. La canzone che presento sotto è Eternal flame. Ho deciso per una versione live, pur preferendo la versione in studio dove la voce di Susanna Hoffs arriva a livelli eccelsi di raffinatezza, perché è più vera e toccante.
